What was the hardest thing you did in the pipeline?
Indoc was really draining physically, and watching people I got to know really well quit was hard. Sadly it was such a huge accomplishment also. People who were way physically stronger than myself quit. Mentally the most difficult part of the pipeline after Indoc was Paramedic, it was like drinking from a fire hose, but also rewarding because medicine is the foundation of a PJ and I knew I would be learning how to make people survive otherwise unsurvivable wounds.
I have been to Indoc before, will the Test Event be good for me to attend?
Absolutely, I always tell guys who have been to Indoc before that it is a chance to be the person you wanted to be at Indoc and try out different leadership tactics since the events are all about learning yourself and your team with real smoke sessions and real instructors but no negative impacts to your career.
I was wondering about your experience of making it through indoctrination, the pipeline, etc. Did you struggle a lot, and where? Also, did you stand out or were really great at one thing or another?
The hardest part for me was waking up in the morning and starting the day, because I knew once I started I could just gut it out… but taking myself out of a comfy bed to get beat up was difficult.
What knots do they make PJs tie underwater at Indoc?
Inside bowline, square knot, fisherman's, clove hitch, and girth hitch with an extra turn.
