If I go CRO do they get to go out as often as the PJs or are they held back planning operations?
As a CRO you will be able to go out just as much as the PJs for at least the first 3-4 years and after that, you will be expected to lead a larger number of personnel, and will not be going out as often.
Can you have a degree and still be a PJ?
Yes you can still be a PJ, but you have to enlist. PJs are an enlisted position.
Do CROs go through the same exact trainings as PJs?
No, they are not paramedic certified. Also a PJ you are expected to be proficient in many aspects, such as extrication, ropes, and over all Technical Rescue Specialist. CROs are not necessarily expected to know every detail like a PJ should, they should just be aware enough to recognized safe and unsafe conditions. A CROs main focus is the up and out aspect.
Do CCT candidates do the same water confidence training as PJs?
Yes, you will be doing the same stuff as PJs now that A&S has replaced CCSC and Indoc.
Is it possible to do PJ or CCT as a reserve?
Yes but you would have to get in touch with a reserve recruiter, then go to that unit to do an assessment and board with them in order to be hired by that unit. Then they will send you to BMT then SW Prep, then A&S.
Do PJ’s with a 3 lvl report to the same duty station for upgrade training or can they be sent to any AFSOC base?
As a 3 level you can be sent to either place.
