Would the Air Force take prior Navy with tattoos if I want to do a Special Warfare job?
Yes, they will. Look at AFI 36-2903 for the specific tattoo regulations. Generally speaking, tattoos are ok unless they are on your head, neck or hands. Nothing derogatory either. The best thing to do is get with a USAF Special Warfare recruiter through Airforce.com.
Where can I find a USAF Special Operations recruiter? I’ve been told they do exist but are rare, and they better your chances of getting into the Pipeline.
You can get hooked up with a spec ops recruiter through Airforce.com just click on find a spec ops recruiter. Or you can go on IG and look up @usafspecopsrecruiting
I'm going into development under recruiter and his ex-CCT operator. I'm not sure if I should invest in one of your programs because I'm not sure what to expect in development?
I would recommend talking to your recruiter and asking how involved and how often he will have PT sessions with you, or if he will provide any workout plans. If you don't feel like those workouts are challenging you enough, or aren't frequent enough, then do some of my programs. You should be aiming to be at the old Indoc Grad standards level of fitness, so let those criteria be your guide.
Did you ever have any prior service from the Marine Corps transfer and come through?
SW recruiters have two boards a year for Prior Service applicants. One is in the beginning of the FY and the other during the winter months (FEB, MAR) in hopes to ship everyone during that FY. It is difficult to get in if you become E-6 before you try to cross over. I would try and talk to a usaf special operations recruiter and see what kind of paperwork is involved but it is definitely possible. They might even be able to transfer your service commitment from Marines to Air Force earlier.
I've heard that if you want to do the job of a PJ you should go Air National Guard.
If you want to train to do the job, I would go active duty.
If I plan on finishing college, when should i talk to an Air Force recruiter?
Recruiters can have you in the Delayed enlistment program for a year before you are ready to leave. I would get qualified before making any solid plans. Some medical issues can be waived but some cannot.
I am not currently in any college program for AF ROTC but if I finish my degree and then want to go Combat Rescue officer, would that be that same as PJ training?
You will go through all of the same courses except for paramedic school. When you are in OTS you will need to complete a phase 1 package. Then go to phase 2 where you will be put through a selection process.
Is it possible to do PJ or CCT as a reserve?
Yes but you would have to get in touch with a reserve recruiter, then go to that unit to do an assessment and board with them in order to be hired by that unit. Then they will send you to BMT then SW Prep, then A&S.
Would I still be eligible to be a PJ at 38 yrs old as long as I meet physical requirements?
Yes, we have had some guys who were that age come through. Also most things can be waivered.
Do you know if there is a better time of year to enlist?
They will lump you in to start on time with SW Prep then A&S right after. It gets pretty hot in the summer so I would go for a colder time.
Should I wait to talk to recruiter until I can pass the PAST?
Nope, talk to them and work out a schedule on when you think you are ready. They will also set you up with a Developer in the meantime. Recruiters can also have you tryout before you go to MEPS, they will give you a paper for your doctor and have them perform a sports physical on you.
Can active duty CROs be assigned to National Guard Rescue Squadrons in active duty billets?
No, you will have to get an active guard slot.
